In early 2016, a start-up company came to us with a design concept and inquired about the feasibility of joint research and development of cutting instruments for orthopedic surgery. This product integrates ablation, cutting, suction and other functions into one, with diverse materials, complex structure and extremely difficult processing. The customer expects that through cooperation between the two parties, the design concept can be turned into mass products on the market. In order to improve efficiency and facilitate communication between the two parties, we reserved an independent office to customers and arrange in-house engineers. The teams of both parties worked together in the same direction. Make the product concept into reality.

At the beginning of the project, 90% of the parts came from the United States. Based on Peter's rich raw material sourcing capabilities and localization experience, we classified and identified all the customer's parts. While meeting the customer's legal and regulatory requirements, we developed a series of Localization transfer plan. After several months of verification, 80% of parts have been localized successfully.

The raw materials of this orthopedic surgical instrument are diversified and involve procurement from multiple regions around the world. This puts forward high requirements for supply chain management capabilities and quality control capabilities. Thanks to Peter’s global material procurement resources accumulated over the past 20 years of medical device, we quickly introduced global resources. It guaranteed the material supplement for trial production.

This orthopedic surgical cutting instrument is composed of dozens of parts. Product manufacturing involves a series of processes such as CNC precision machining, wire cutting, laser cutting, laser marking, laser welding, laser marking, passivation, electrolytic polishing, injection molding... etc. Relying on the vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities of the factory, Peter’s helped customers quickly implement initial product concepts.

After several years of marketing, this orthopedic surgical instrument jointly developed by us and our customers received great praise in the market, and was eventually involved into the product family of the world's top orthopedic surgical instrument brand, achieving great commercial success!
